Police filed a case on Sunday last when the little girl went missing and also took three men into custody from a nearby home after father of the girl Irshad, a book seller by profession in Lal Kurti, brought sniffer dogs, which entered their house. The father also alleged the three men for kidnapping his little daughter Aisha Irshad.

Those arrested by police are identified as Asad, Joshi and Victor. However, the investigators said they detainees did not confess their crime during course of investigation while the medico-legal report would ascertain the cause of death.

Police quoted Irshad as saying that he arrived along with Aisha on his motorcycle in Samarzar on Adyala Road on Sunday last to see his piece of land there. He parked his motorcycle nearby leaving Aisha sitting on it. He stated that he found his daughter missing when he returned after 10 minutes. Later, the sniffer dogs were brought which entered a nearby home where three men were present. Police rounded up the three men after Irshad alleged them for kidnapping his daughter.

On a query, the SHO said that there was a big stream a few yards away from the place where the motorcycle was parked and the dead body was found lying there.

“Police have been investigating on different lines to ascertain whether the girl was pushed into stream by someone or she herself slipped into it. However, the evidence available to the police clearly showed that it was not a kidnapping case because there was no torture marks on her body,” he added. Till filing of this report, police were waiting for issuance of MLR by the doctors.
