LAHORE - The Punjab Assembly on Monday adopted a resolution jointly moved by the Treasury and the Opposition, to condemn the ongoing Indian aggression on the Line of Control.
The House demanded of the Federal government to raise the issue at the international level to mount pressure on India to abide by the international laws. “At first, India levelled a baseless allegation of military men’s killings on Pakistan, and then resorted to unprovoked firing on Pakistan Army and the civilians in violation of international laws”, said the resolution adopted unanimously by the Assembly. The House expressed grief over the deaths caused by Indian aggression and also prayed for the departed souls.
In a separate resolution, the Provincial Assembly also condemned recent acts of terrorism in Balochistan. Around 30 police officers and officials lost their lives as a result of suicide attack at Police Lines, Quetta a few days back. The House declared martyrdom of policemen a national tragedy.
“Fayyaz Ahmad Sumbal Shaheed was a courageous, professional and dutiful officer whose services would be remembered for long”, read the resolution paying tributes to the officer. It condoled the deaths of Shaheed DIG and other martyrs with the bereaved families and prayed for the departed souls.
