Army takes control of security at Parliament House

ISLAMABAD- In view of the imposition of Article-245 of the Constitution in Islamabad and long march by the PTI and PAT, the army has taken control of the security of the Parliament House.

According to sources, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and heads of all three armed forces, parliamentarians and international political
figures will take part in the Independence Day celebration ceremonies. All passes for staff of Parliament House have already been cancelled in view of security measures.

Meanwhile, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), in its statement said main ceremony of the Independence Day will be held on the eve of August 14. Pakistan Air Force will also perform fly-past. A special documentary featuring history of Pakistan will also be screened during the gathering, DG ISPR Asim Saleem Bajwa added.
