ISLAMABAD - The cabinet division on Tuesday closed its doors for visitors in the wake of current political situation and full-dress rehearsals in connection with Independence Day ceremony.

The cabinet division issued a notification in this regard that placed ban on visitors of cabinet division, establishment division and information ministry on August 13.

In addition to the notification, the division issued a set of instructions to the employees of establishment division and information ministry to vacate the building before 04:00pm. The building would be handed over to the security staff of the army. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is scheduled to address a ceremony on August 13 at 10:00pm.

Well-placed sources of cabinet division informed this scribe that division issued the notification and it was circulated to establishment division and information ministry. The notification said that visitors or outsiders would not be allowed to come inside the building on August 13.

The secretaries of ministry of Information and establishment division were also asked to submit the list of those employees who would stay in building after 04:00pm due to their official assignments. Special branch will issue the special security passes to such employees. The establishment division and information ministry were also asked to provide lists of their official vehicles.

The Incumbent government had earlier decided to celebrate the Independence Day with the full swing and army parade and air show would also be organised after a long time. The army troops and jets have been busy in the rehearsal of Independence Day parade since last week. Corps commander Rawalpindi is looking after the arrangements of parade and he has visited the place of parade several times.
