As operation Zarb-e-Azab is ongoing, I am sure many of the pseudo Jihadists are going to their paradise. They had made our homeland into a living hell. Let me remind the state machinery about its ‘state of torpor’. Before 9/11there was peace, but then terrorism, suicide attacks and bomb blasts entered Pakistani society. Sufi Mohammad was the first person who ignited a fiasco in our homeland by his grandiloquent harangues. But our state machinery remained silent and no action was taken against him. As a result, over 50,000 innocent people died.

In 2007, the sad incident of Lal Masjid took place. Initially, authorities of Lal Masjid tried to take the law into their own hands, but our state machinery remained silent and no action was taken. Resultantly, Musharraf’s regime acted killing 103 people, including females. Now, an iconoclast Dr. Qadri is instigating his ignorant followers to kindle another fiasco but our state machinery is silent and, so far, no action has been taken against him. One shudders to think are we heading for another disaster? Will we not learn from the past?
