The police have launched hunt for workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and an office bearer of the party has been picked up in a theft case. A statement issued by police said that the district secretary information of PTI Multan Azhar Hashmi was arrested in a theft case. Police further stated that Azhar Hashmi had not been arrested in connection with Azadi March as the theft case was already registered against him.
Giving reaction to arrests of the PTI workers, district president Ejaz Janjua said that the government’s acts and policy were condemnable as PTI workers were being arrested despite lifting of Section 144. He added that the government exhibited dual standards as it extended protocol to its ministers and parliamentarians during processions and rallies while on the other hand PTI workers were being arrested. “Come what may, millions of PTI workers will march towards Islamabad and get the nation rid of Sharifs’ monarch,” he declared.
On the other hand, the workers of PML-N have started rallies and demonstrations against PTI chairman Imran Khan and Allama Tahirul Qadri. The activists of PML-N Women and Youth Wings brought out a rally under the leadership of Hamza Shahid Lodhi and burnt effigy of Dr Tahirul Qadri. They marchers shouted slogans against Dr Tahirul Qadri and demanded his arrested. They warned that if the government showed reluctance in arresting Dr Qadri, the PML-N workers would encircle him.
Earlier, addressing another rally, provincial minister Abdul Waheed Arrain said that Tahirul Qadri misled the masses in the name of Islam. He added that Canadian citizen would not be allowed to play with national security. He maintained that Dr. Qadri had a foreign agenda which would be foiled at any cost. He warned that Qadri would have to pay for shedding the blood of policemen.
