ISLAMABAD: While advising the government not to come under pressure, PTI central leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that his party will side with MQM only if their demands were within the ambit of the constitution and law.
“We are with the MQM over their just demands, but we will not support anyone who is ultra-constitutional,” he said while talking to journalists outside Parliament House today.
Qureshi said that the motive behind giving resignations by MQM law-makers was to mount pressure on the government. “The government should not succumb to their pressure,” he added.
“No one is providing us an opportunity in Karachi but the people of Karachi have become fed up with the policies of MQM and the Sindh government and they are now seeing their future in the PTI”, he said.
“What are the grievances of the MQM. The government should make them public,” he demanded.
Citizens of Karachi think that the situation was improving, he said adding that the Karachi operation was going in a right direction. “Crime rates, target killings and extortions have come down considerably,” he said.
