RAWALPINDI - Army has saved the twin cities from a horrific terrorist attack by rounding up six militants, including two Taliban commanders, during a combing operation in Gujar Khan and Kallar Syedan, reliable sources disclosed to The Nation yesterday. The troops also recovered explosive materials and the two long ranged Improvised Explosive Devices from the possession of terrorists who were later shifted to unknown location for interrogation, sources said.

They said Pakistan Army troops, including Quick Respond Force (QRF), launched a massive search operation at wee hours of Friday in Gujar Khan and Kallar Syedan.

They said the troops sealed the whole areas and conducted door to door search and arrested six militants along with explosive and two IEDs. “The militants had also prepared pressure cooker bombs that they can be used for big devastation in twin cities on August 14,” sources said.  They said that troops also recovered mobile phones and SIMs from the detainees.
