Exhibition of photographic prints opens

LAHORE - An exhibition of photographic prints of The Mall spanning images from the roads inception during the British Rule to more recent times was opened at National College of Arts Zahoorul Akhlaq Gallery here on Monday. Entitled 'Revisiting Mall Road, the photographic exhibition aims at reclaiming and revitalising the core values and representations of an inclusive culture that the Malls ambience has reflected for over a century. The exhibitions objective is to sensitise awareness about an inclusive cultural heritage of a South Asian Muslim identity threatened by high paced urbanisation and expansion of Lahore under pressures globalization and modernity. The rare photographic prints of Mall Road are provided by NCAs Archive Unit and the Loh Kot Cultural and Heritage Society, Lahore.
