SHO admonished over Sapna missing tragedy

LAHORE An Additional District & Sessions Judge Choudhry Nazeer Ahmed on Monday admonished the Race Course SHO for not recording the statement of Missal Khan, father of abducted actress Sapna Khan, and directed him to record the statement of petitioner and act in accordance with law, if cognizable offence made out, against former Chief Minster Dost Muhammad Khosa allegedly involved in kidnapping and murdering Sapna Khan. The judge also directed SHO to submit report till December 14 after conducting inquiry of petitioner Missal Khan whether he was the actual father of Sapna Khan or not. The case took a dramatic change when Khosas counsel Zubair Khalid revealed in the court that Missal Khan was not the actual father of Sapna Khan. Advocate Khalid argued before the court that Khosas driver Mohammad Shahid was an eyewitness and according to him the person who was appearing before the court was not the actual father of Sapna Khan. After this revelation, harsh and abusive comments had also been witnessed between Mohammad Shahid and Sapna Khans brother Faisal Khan outside the courtroom. Madam Sapna had once told me that Missal Khan is Uncle, Mohammad Shahid remained committed on his stance that Missal Khan was not actual father of his former Madam. Faisal Khan; however, continued crying that Dost Khosa and his partners in crime kidnapped his sister and killed her and, he would not forgive and forget the blood of his sister. Earlier, during the course of hearing, the Judge rebuked over the delaying tactic by SHO for recording the statement of Missal Khan, who filed contempt of court petition against police. Race Course SHO submitted report before the court that police had visited Missal Khans house but petitioner was not available. He contended that police officials had left a massage for Missal Khan to come to police station but he did not bother to approach. The Judge had already directed SHO to record the statement of petitioner but SHO reportedly remained disappear from the police station. Violation of orders: Lahore High Court Justice Khalid Mahmood Khan on Monday expressed annoyance over the ignoring behaviour of Punjab Revenue Department officials against implementation of court orders. Justice Khan remarked Violation of courts orders will not be tolerated and the offender will have to face the music. The judge issued these remarks while appointing a local commission to visit an alleged abolished portion of a private institution in Walton area and verify the claim of Commissioner that no violation of court order was committed. The Commissioner Jawad Rafiq, who appeared following court orders, informed the court that the government had not demolished the institutions property and the bulldozed property was not in the use of school. Opposing the Commissioners stance petitioners counsel alleged that the Commissioner was lying to the court and pleaded that LHC had issued a stay order against the property demolished by the government. Justice Muhammad Khalid Mehmood Khan appointed a local commission to know the real status of demolished property, and directed it to visit the site of the institution and report to the court by Dec 14. The Pakistan Foundation Technical Institute (a charitable school for boys) filed the petition and pleaded that LHC had restrained the revenue department and city district government from demolishing the charitable school, Walton Road. But, they demolished the major portion of the school on October 8 and deprived its students, belonging to low-income families, of continuing their studies. Advocate Ghulam Hussain, petitioners counsel, stated that Pakistan Foundation High School for Boys, Walton Road, had been functioning since 1961 on the land leased to the institute by the Punjab Government. INDIAN MOVIES: Lahore High Court Justice Khalid Mahmood Khan on Friday sought reply from federal government and Pakistan film Censor Board on a petition seeking ban on exhibition of Indian films in the country. Chairman Arbitration Pakistan Films Distribution Association Ijaz Kamran filed the petition through his counsel Rana Ijaz. He submitted that the exhibition of Indian films had pushed the local film industry on the verge of collapse and only 15 to 20 cinemas were currently screening the Pakistani movies. NOTICE ISSUED TO CHIEF SECY: Lahore High Court Justice Khalid Mahmood Khan on Friday issued notices to Punjab Chief Secretary Nasir Mahmood Khosa on contempt of court petition seeking release of one year salary of former executive engineer of health department. Petitioner Shahid Saleem submitted that he had been appointed on August 2008 for three years contract basis in health department. But the department sacked him in the mid of contract despite the orders of court. The LHC had restrained the Chief Secretary and Health Secretary from the dismissal.
