KARACHI - The present democratic government is assigning particular priority to the Gorakh Hill Station development and President Asif Ali Zardari will soon visit to review the development work.Gorakh Hill Development Authority Director General Engineer Nazir Ahmed Chakrani stated while presiding over a meeting of the field officers.He said Benazir Bhutto along with Asif Ali Zardari had visited Gorakh Hills Station in 1989 and visualized developing it to a full resort for recreation of people of the province.He informed that a new alignment of 54km road of all weather from Wahi Pandhi to Gorakh Hill top was being considered for which a PC-I was under preparation.He disclosed that Minister Tourism Development Ali Malkani had directed to complete on-going work before the expected visit of the president.He said that development work at the Hill Station had been accelerated and in this regard, some new schemes, which included widening of a road from Wahi Pandhi to Gorakh Hill and construction of small bridges, had been sent to Planning and Development Department for approval.In the meeting, it was informed that a number of development schemes which included construction of tuck shop, staff quarters, tourists’ huts and water supply lines had been completed. The Director General informed the meeting that President Asif Ali Zardari was taking keen interest in the speedy development of Gorakh Hill Station as a full resort, adding that President, during his recent visit to Karachi, issued special direction for development work at Gorakh Hill Station and promised to visit the area to review on-going work.Meanwhile, the Sindh Chief Minister and Chairman Gorakh Hills Development Authority appointed Sardar Dur Muhammad as a Non-Official Member of Gorakh Hills Development Authority as well as Member of Advisory, Land and Financial Committees on affairs of Development Works, Land ,law and order, financial and wildlife matters etc. BAIL OF BALDIA FACTORY OWNERS: Additional prosecutor general on Wednesday sought time from the Sindh High Court to file comments on bail of the owners of Baldia garment factory which claimed more than 250 lives.A single member bench comprising Justice Aftab Ahmed Gorar put off the hearing till December 17.The factory owners were booked under the murder charges for deaths of more than 250 people in their factory fire.  The applicants Arshad Abdul Aziz and Shahid Abdul Aziz had approached to court to be released on the bail.In the bail application, they had submitted that the investigation carried out by the police was motivated and full of errors. They maintained police forced witness to record their statement against the factory owners.
