The lawyers fraternity took out torch-bearer rally at Fawara Chowk to bid farewell to outgoing Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry in a befitting manner.
On the occasion, addressing the gathering scores of lawyers including former DBA Presidents, General Secretaries and office-bearers paid glowing tributes to the untiring and daring outgoing Chief Justice of Pakistan.
They expressed the hope that the new Chief Justice of Pakistan would follow his policies for rule of law, preservation of Constitution of Pakistan, ensuring undiluted democracy in the country and to check corruption.
CANAL CLOSURE: Qadirabad Balloki Link and Jhang Branch Canal will remain closed from December 27 to January 13 and Lower Chenab Canal (except Jhang Branch Canal) would remain closed from January 13 to January 30 for annual repair and desilting, according to press release issued by the irrigation department.
