Religious saints Hazrat Sheikh Jewan Rajput, Baba Sakhi Syden Shah Bukhari, Baba Roshan Shah, Hazrat Noor Hasan Ghazi, Hazrat Mehmood Shaheed, Hazrat Moosa Shaheed and Hazrat Nikroo Shaheed spread Islam in Thal as thousands of non-believers embraced Islam at their hands centuries ago. The foresaid religious saints loved and chose Thal for preaching of Islam and spreading their spiritual teachings by following Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PUBH). Talking to The Nation, the prominent religious scholar Maulana Masoodul Hasan said that these saints had devoted their lives for spreading Islam. According to the history, the religious saints reached in Thal on the request of inhabitants of the area. According to Allama Sher Muhammad Sialvi the Sufi saints promoted peace, brotherhood and tolerance in the subcontinent especially in the Punjab.
