Seven persons were killed and eight others injured in different incidents of violence and enmity over the past 48 hours.
According to details, in Jhang a woman was killed in a road mishap occurred on Jhang-Sargodha Road near Bhon Adda. The accident occurred when Muhammad Sibtain along with his relative Khatoon Bibi, residents of Chak Shairwala Mauza Bhero situated in the remit of Qadirpur Police was on the way to somewhere on a bike. When they reached near Adda Bhon, the bike collided with a speeding tractor-trolley. Resultantly, Khatoon Bibi died on the spot while Muhammad Sibtain sustained critical wounds and was admitted to hospital.
In another mishap which took place on Jhang-Chiniot Road a young man was crushed to death while crossing road.  Reportedly, Muhammad Anwar, a resident of Chak Ramana, was crossing road near Bhuwana when a speeding cane-laden tractor-trolley hit him. Resultantly, he sustained serious wounds but succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital.
In another incident, a 40-year-old man was killed by burn. As per detail, one Ghulam Sarwar, a resident of Mohllah Tufailpura was asleep in his cottage when some unknown people set fire to the cottage. All of sudden fire engulfed the cottage and he sustained critical burns. He was rushed to hospital where he breathed his last.
Similarly in Gujranwala, four persons including a minor were injured by the dacoits on resistance during a robbery while the bandits succeeded in escaping with a cash, gold ornaments, dollars and pounds. According to details five armed persons entered the house of Malik Nasir, a resident of Shadman Town at midnight and held hostage the family members. The bandits collected 60 tolas of gold ornaments, Rs350,000, 300 dollars, 150 pounds and a pistol. However, they shot at and injured Malik Nasir, his brother Malik Nadeem, his 13-year-old daughter Sehrish and their guard Rafiq while a dacoit also sustained gunshot wounds due to firing of his companions. In the meanwhile, the dacoits made off with the booty worth hundreds of thousands of rupees.
 The People’s Colony Police registered a case while the police also arrested the injured dacoit. In another incident, a speeding motorcycle hit to death local grid station In-Charge Nazir Shah when he was on the way on a motorcycle near Alam Chowk. In yet another incident, one Shoaib, a resident of Lambanwali Road was murdered by unidentified assailants. It was learnt that his dead body found in a plot near Mandial Warriach and he was killed with repeated hits of iron rod on his head.
Meanwhile, in Sheikhupura, a man was killed while two other sustained critical bullet injuries in an exchange of firing between two rival groups over land dispute in village Shahkot in the limit of Saddr Police here the other day.
According to detail, Rafique Rabbani, Ghulam Rabbani and Saddique Rabbani (brothers) had a land dispute with Nasir and Easa of the same locality.
Meanwhile, both the parties opened fire on each other. As a result, Rafique died on the spot while Ghulam Rabbani and Saddique sustained sever bullet injures and were shifted to hospital. The Saddr Police have registered a case against Nasir and others.
In another incident, a farmer Nazeer alias Bagga was shot dead by some unidentified assailants in his fields’ in broad daylight in village Bhyan in the remit of Narang Police. The motive behind the incident could not be ascertained so far. However the Narang Police attributed the incident to an old enmity.
