Special prayers and Qurani Khawni were held in main masques and different institutions in memory of the martyrs of Army Public School Peshawar.

Special programmes have been chalked out to observe the Martyrs Week in the District to pay tributes to the students and teachers of Army Public School, DCO Usman said. He added that essay competitions, national songs, walks, seminars and tableau included in the programmes being held at educational institutions and other places till December 16. He said that a major ceremony would be held in District Complex on December 16 to pay glowing tributes to the martyrs. Executive District Officer Education, Iftikhar Nawaz Virk said that different programmes were held in Government Middle School Pindi Bhattian, Government High School Hafizabad, Government Higher Secondary School Vaneki Tarar, and Government Higher Secondary School Pindi Bhattian.

District Police Officer Hafizabad Shakar Hussain Dawar said that the nation was united and stood like rock behind the Pakistan Army and other law-enforcing agencies to weed out terrorism from the country.

Talking the teachers and students during his visit to Government High School Madina Colony Hafizabad, he said that sacrifices of students, personnel of security forces and common citizens would not go in vain.

He said that students of Peshawar Army School had proved that even kids of the nation were not afraid of terrorists and sacrificed their lives. Thus, the nation is proud of them for their bravery and courage, he noted.

He also called upon teachers and students to improve security arrangements and inform the police about suspicious persons to prevent any untoward incident.
