FIA starts to rescue 23 CDA officials instead of arrest

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has started to rescue the 23 officials of Capital Development Authority (CDA), nominated in slum case in the court trial rather than to arrest them.

Sources said that FIA has registered a case against 43 officials of civic body on the allegation of playing role, as a facilitator in the construction of slums in the capital.

“As many as three officials were discharged from the case, while declaring them innocent after investigation by the FIA, eight officials were still in prison in Adiala Jail and eleven officials and staffers has already sought interim bail from the court”, sources added.

Sources further told that four nominated officials of CDA have been witnessed to meet with the investigation officer of FIA yesterday.

According to FIR registered by FIA these 43 officials of CDA were alleged of playing role of facilitator in establishing the slums and did not exercise their powers to check these slums.

The CDA’s officials is of the view that the court has to decided the future of all these officials and staffers of civic body and now FIA was investigating the matter adding that if any accused officials met with investigation officer in person, the civic body has no concern with it.

On the other hand, the FIA is of the view that no accused official would be facilitated adding that innocent officials were released immediately and faulty would be brought to justice.
