KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to conduct a meeting with shareholders on Tuesday (today).

According to the details obtained from media reports, the main purpose of this meeting is to discuss privatisation of PIA. The meeting will be supervised by the member of board Ghiasuddin Ahmed, after Chairman Azam Saigol resigned on Monday night.

It's only been a few days since the heart-wrenching PK661 flight crash took place in which 47 people were killed.

Following the air crash PIA decided to ground its entire ATR fleet until declared fit to fly after a thorough examination.

Earlier this year in February, two people were killed as employees of the PIA protested and boycotted duties over proposed privatisation of the national carrier. Since then the plans to privatise the national carrier have taken a backseat.
