The funeral prayers of martyred second Lieutenant Abdul Moid were offered at Ayub Stadium in Lahore.
Abdul Moid and Sepoy Basharat were embraced martyrdom in result of a terrorist attack on military vehicle in North Wazristan.
Top military and civil leadership including Corps Commander Lahore Amir Riaz were at the prayers. The martyr will be laid to rest at Cavalry ground graveyard with full honours.
According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement issued yesterday, the terrorists attacked an army vehicle from surrounding mountains in North Waziristan Agency as a result of which Second Lieutenant Abdul Moeed and Sepoy Basharat were martyred.
21-year-old Abdul Moeed who had recently passed out from Pakistan Military Academy was a resident of Burewala, Vehari while Sepoy Basharat, 21, having three years military service, hailed from Danyor village of Gilgit.
Earlier, six army men were martyred this month when an improvised explosive device targeted a military vehicle in North Waziristan.
Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa lauded the sacrifices of the martyrs to safeguard the country, according to a tweet of ISPR DG Maj-Gen Asif Ghafoor. “Freedom isn’t free; it costs sons of the soil. Freedom that we enjoy today is owed to so many such brave hearts. Salute to our martyrs,” the COAS said in a message after two soldiers were martyred in North Waziristan Agency.
