In the general council meeting, which was chaired by POA President Syed Arif Hassan, the representatives of all the national sports federations affiliated with the POA took part. After the meeting, President POA told the media persons that all the members unanimously awarded the hosting of 32nd National Games to the Punjab Olympic Association and Games will be held in 2012. "Quetta is awarded the fourth Inter-provincial Games as per their request," he said and added: "The 33rd National Games will be held in Islamabad and the schedule will be announced within a month". The president also suggested the Punjab Olympic Association to hold the events of Games in different cities to gain popularity. "If wrestling and weightlifting events will be planned in Gujranwala or Sialkot where these disciplines have huge number of fan following then this would be a success of the Punjab," he said. "Similarly volleyball will be held in Faisalabad and kabaddi in Okara to make the event more attractive," he said. He further said that President Pakistan Hockey Federation Qasim Zia and President Pakistan Boxing Federation Doda Khan were elected as vice president POA. He also praised the other federation representatives who got entry in international sports federations. He believed that the year 2010 was most hectic year for the POA as there were a series of national and international events in which Pakistani teams represented. "The general council evaluated the performance which was better than expectations but some federations completely disappointed with their poor show in national and international events," he added.
