LAHORE Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said here Saturday that vast opportunities of investment in the agriculture, livestock, dairy products, and energy sectors were available in the Punjab. The [Punjab] government has created conducive atmosphere for investment in the province and all possible facilities are being provided to the businessmen, he told the visiting businessmen from Norway. You country can make investments in agri-products, livestock, and energy sectors. Joint ventures can also be launched, he told the delegation which was led by Oslo City Council member Aamir Javed Sheikh. The CM was assisted by Minister for Excise Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, Member National Assembly Pervaiz Malik, Punjab Investment Board Vice Chairman Rizwanullah Khan, and Planning & Development Secretary during the talks. The Chief Minister said that Pakistan is facing security problems which have left negative impacts on the national economy. He said that other nations, too, have been facing such challenges, but only those nations succeed which face such challenges with courage and valour. The Norwegian side said best investment opportunities were available in various sectors in the Punjab and they were keenly looking forward to making investments here. The team members said that Pakistanis residing in Norway were playing an important role in that nations development. Aamir Javed Sheikh while appreciating the steps taken by the Chief Minister for the development of the province said that he was deeply impressed with the quality of development projects here. The delegation members included Chief Executive Officer Lebara, Mrs. Hanne Lovstad, Mr. Tom Arne Nborg (of Property Developer Company), Norwegian Committee for Pakistan Liberation Celebration Vice Chairman M. Anwer Sofi, Ahmad Saeed, and Nisar Ahmad Chaudhary. The Punjab government, he told Mr Sheikh, was implementing a comprehensive strategy for the promotion of the industry, agriculture, livestock, and trade. .
