KARACHI Seven students were injured in a clash between two student organisations at the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) here on Saturday. Police said the clash erupted between the activists of Islami Jamiat Tulba (IJT) and Pukhtoon Student Organisation (PSF) and both groups attacked each other with sticks and iron rods. Police added that the clash started near the mosque situated in university premises, adding that seven students of both organisations were injured in the clash and police took them to the Liaquat National Hospital (LNH) and Patel Hospital (PH) for treatment. He informed that four students belong to (IJT) namely Ismail Baloch, Ahsan, Alam and Kanat were shifted to (LNH) for treatment and 3 activist of (PSF) including Arshad, Saleem and Jamil were moved to (PH). The clash suspended educational activities at the campus for two hours. Law enforcement agencies (LEA) reached at the spot and used baton-charge and tear gas to disperse the students and to maintain the law and order situation. It is pertinent to mention here that this was the third incident during the last two days that between the same organisations in separate institutions resultantly educational activities temporary suspended. However no case was registered and no one was arrested till the filing of this report.
