Jane Perlez in an article published in New York Times on February 8 revealed that Raymond Davis is an ex military man. He retired in 2003 and he and his wife are providing security services through their company (Hyperion protective services). It seems to be a one-man sow company and Mr Davis is handling it. Its very unfortunate that USA is pressurizing Pakistan and has declared Davis as a diplomat. All the energies are being used by the US foreign office to get him released without fulfilling the legal requirements. The tendency of protecting its citizens, irrespective of their wrongdoing is very dangerous. America must show through its deeds that lives of all the human beings are precious. Hitler killed millions and ruined his country due to the superiority phobia and I would suggest that Americans should not commit the same mistake. BILAL SHAHID, Rawalpindi, February 12.
