QUETTA - Like other parts of the country the activities for Senate elections continued here on Sunday and 96 candidates obtained nomination papers.

About 12 candidates would be elected from Balochistan for Senate elections which would be held next month.

The election would be held for seven general seats, 2 each for women and technocrat seats and one seat of minorities.

The 65 members of Balochistan Assembly would caste their votes to elect candidates on 12 seats.

On the other hand, political parties are engaged in massive activities and negotiations for the success of their candidates.

Awami National Party which has three seats in the Balochistan Assembly would announce the names of its candidates for upcoming elections on Monday.

According to party sources Dawood Khan Advocate has been nominated for general seats, Begum Maher Aurangzeb Kasi for women seat, Haji Abdul Jabbar Kakar for technocrats seat and Benish Sikandar for minorities seat. PPP and JUI-F had already announced the names of their candidates while so far PML-Q, PML-N and Balochistan National Party (BNP-Awami) have not announced names of their candidate for the upcoming Senate elections.
