LAHORE - Education and Health Departments will work jointly to create awareness among the masses about dengue virus, Secretary Schools Punjab Aslam Komboh said on Sunday.

While addressing a seminar on Dengue awareness, Mr Kamboh said that the Education Department will distribute 20 million pamphlets to educate students and teachers about the Dengue virus, while information about this virus has also been added to the text books.

The Punjab Schools Secretary said that 10 billion students and thousands of teachers, from the public and private schools would participate in the dengue awareness campaign.

He observed that the public schools have already started implementation of departmental directives regarding cleanliness and fumigation of the school premises; however the performance of private schools in this regard was not up to the mark.

Gender Group Coordinator for School Education Rehana Anwar also addressed the participants of this seminar and highlighted the role of women for the eradication of dengue virus.
