LAHORE – Senior PML-Q leader, Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi has stressed the need for furthering trade ties between Pakistan and Iran. He expressed the views while talking to the Iranian Counsel General, Hussain Nabi Asadi who called on him on Sunday.

Pervaiz Elahi said that livestock, textile, furniture, rice, fruits and halal meat could be the areas of common interest for trade between the two neighbours. The PML-Q leader assured the Iranian Counsel General that he would talk to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on the issue. Iranian Counsel General on this occasion invited Pakistani traders to organise exhibitions of their products in Iran, to boost their demand in the neighbouring country.

He said that Iranian products were equally popular in both the brotherly countries and trade ties in various fields could be further explored by interaction between the two sides.
