OKARA - The federal parliamentary secretary for finance has claimed that the PPP rendered sacrifices for democracy and human rights.

“Despite pressure, President Zardari continued the politics of reconciliation,” Chaudhry Sajjadul Hassan said while talking to the media. “Prime Minister Syed Gilani earlier appeared in the Supreme Court and even now he will face it boldly. The PPP always respected the court verdicts. The PPP is ready to present 5th budget.”

He said that all the promises made with the nation would be fulfilled, adding that his party win additional seats in the upcoming elections. He added gas and electricity have already been supplied to the far flung areas. He said that the government would complete the Pak-Iran gas pipeline project at all costs. He observed that the parliament should complete the constitutional term, adding that those willing to topple the government would fail.

ROBBERIES:  At an agriculture pesticide shop in the vegetable market, bandits made off with hundreds of thousands of rupees and mobiles by holding the people there at gunpoint.

They snatched. Sources told the resident of  Fateh Town Okara Mohammad Naeem Siddiqi an agri pesticide shop in vegetable market. There suddenly 2 armed dacoits attacked. They too Mohammad Naeem, Naveed, Chaudhary Saeed hostage and looted a cash of Rs2,34,000 and 7 mobiles. Police have started raids for the arrest of the criminals.

Rs0.26 million burglary at a shop: Unidentified burglars stole goods and valuables, worth Rs0.26 million, from a shop in 39/3R Okara on Wednesday.

Sources said the burglars broke open the shutter of Abdul Ghafoor’s shop and made off with goods and valuables, worth Rs 0.26 million.

A case has been registered against the unidentified thieves.
