Robbers caught, pistol recovered



SHERGARH - Two robbers were caught and a pistol was recovered from them after they tried to flee after looting the driver of a bus carrying schoolchildren here in Chak Qureshi situated in the limits of Shergarh Police here the other day.
Rahmatullah, a resident of Chak Risaldar and an eyewitness of the incident, told the police that a school bus was going to drop children at their school in the morning when it was intercepted by a motorbike coming from the opposite direction in Chak Qureshi. Two armed men got off the bike, held the driver at gunpoint and snatched Rs10,000 from him.
As the children raised alarm, the accused resorted to aerial firing upon which people of the village gathered on the spot. The villagers chased the culprits and caught them. The accused were identified as Yasin s/o Varyam, resident of Chowk Hujra and Ashraf s/o Raheem Bakhsh, resident of nearby Rajowal town. The local police also reached the scene and took the pistol and the bike into custody. On the complaint of Rahmatuulah, the police have registered a case.
