KHANEWAL - The Pakistan Railways Prem Union rallied against the deteriorating condition of the railways and held the bureaucracy responsible for the rampant corruption in the department.
The Prem activists took the rally from loco shed to the railway station, carrying placards and banners against the Pakistan Railways Management.
While addressing the gathering, Prem Union President Wasif Khan accused the railways bureaucracy of looting money and promoting corruption. He alleged that the authorities concerned were misusing the protocol in the name of duty.
Join Action Committee Chairman Javedul Hassan appealed Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry to take suo moto notice of the corruption in the Railways. He also accused the railways administration of deducting 5% of employees’ monthly salaries in the name of property maintenance but in fact doing nothing in this regard. The Prem Union leaders demanded the management to pay pending gratuity and TA bills to the employees and rejected the transfer of salaries through bank accounts.
