CM seeks lawmakers role for metro sense

LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday said that public appreciation for Metro bus system was an honor for the Punjab Government stressing to show discipline while using the transport facility.
While presiding over the first meeting of the steering committee on Metro Bus Service, the CM said that the Punjab government had launched an awareness campaign for the travelers, while members of national and provincial assembly should remain at every bus station to avoid any untoward incident. He said that assembly members would provide guidance to the passengers and remain at stations during bus operations and would perform this duty on daily basis.
He said that the Metro bus was an asset of the nation and displaying discipline while traveling in these buses would earn the country a good image at the world level.
He said that the protection of Metro buses was the responsibility of the people and asked the Punjab Metro Bus Authority and other concerned officials to take all necessary steps to maintain discipline.
 The CM said that after the introduction of new transport the public would have to adopt a new discipline of traveling and should prove themselves to be civilised by traveling in these buses in a proper and dignified manner. The CM directed installation of barriers on route crossing so that buses can continue their journey without any hindrance. He said a control room has been set up to monitor metro bus system, which will remain active 24 hours a day, while an SP rank officer would be its incharge, whereas police officials have also been deputed at every station. The CM directed concerned authorities to make special arrangements to enable women passengers to reach their destination on time.
Education: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday said that the darkness of terrorism, extremism, poverty, unemployment and ignorance could be removed by imparting modern knowledge to the younger generation.
While talking to members of assembly belonging to various districts the CM said that only those nations made progress in the world which spent resources on education and training of their youth.
He said that Pakistan was facing serious challenges of terrorism, corruption, loadshedding and unemployment, and Pakistan Muslim League-N was the only party which could bring the country out of these crises, under the dynamic leadership of Nawaz Sharif.
