Distance learning programme at GCUF Layyah Campus soon

FAISALABAD - Government College University Faisalabad Layyah Campus, will start ‘Distance Learning Programmes’ to provide quality education to the people.
It was decided at the eleventh meeting of GCUF Academic Council which was presided over by Vice Chancellor Dr Zakir Hussain.
GCUF Registrar Muhmmad Ayub, Deans Dr Muhammad Shahbaz Arif, Dr Naureen Aziz Qureshi, Dr Hafeezur Rehman Tahir, Dr Pervez Azeem, HR Senior Advisor Sheikh Akram, Director Admin Muhammad Mushtaq and other head of departments, directors attended the meeting.
On the occasion, The VC said that various distance learning programmes at the GCUF main campus were also already be imparted.
He said that distance learning education was the best tool in current scenario to increase post graduated manpower and cope with the increasing demand for education.
“The people, who can not avail higher education because of their jobs and other factors, can get benefits of the system”, he added.
He said the university was ranked sixth best university of the country and they were promoting research culture to meet the demand of modern era.
He said that education, being engine for development, needed to be strengthened to make it accessible for everyone, especially living in far-flung areas. He also directed the participants to ensure quality education at the campus at par with the developed nations to cope with the challenges.
