School partially damaged



MARDAN - A classroom of Physics Department at Government Post Graduate Collage Mardan was partially damaged when an explosive device went off in the department on Tuesday, police sources said.
Sources said that unidentified persons had planted explosive device at the M.Sc class room of physics department and when the class four Isfaq Khan closing the class after closing time the explosive device blow up with huge sound. The explosion broke the windowpane of the room and also partially damaged the room. However, it caused no casualty. Police registered first information (FIR) against unknown miscreants on the complaint of Imtyaz Ahmed Chairman of Physics department. The police reached the spot and collected pieces of evidence.
It is to be noted that government post graduate college Mardan is located at Bacha Khan choke few meters from DIG office, local courts and Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti house.
CCTV cameras is already installed in Bacha Khan cowke control by DIG office but in spite of all these arrangements suspected militants entered the college and planted explosive device to the departments. The militants operating in Mardan district often carry out sabotage acts in district and especially in the city area.  It was seventh incident of terrorism occurred in the district in the current year during the ongoing militancy. Police launched search in the nearby areas but no arrest could be made.
