RAWALPINDI - Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) President Mian Humayun Parvez Friday urged government to announce the automobile industry policy immediately.
He said that no doubt auto industry was blooming in Pakistan and companies were earning hefty profits. However, due to the absence of policy local manufacturers were facing serious difficulties.
The auto policy has been pending for more than three years now and uncertainty was increasing among manufacturers and car dealers, he said. The government must finalize the new auto policy without any further delay as it would give clear signal for investment by the assemblers and vendors who were ready for setting up long term investments, he added. The SME sector attached with Auto industry could only be flourished once we have a concrete policy on automobile, he further added.
President RCCI also stressed on a collaborative strategy between the government, car assemblers and parts manufacturers.
He said that many countries in the world including Japan, China, Korea, India, Brazil, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia used Auto sector as a launching pad for promoting industry, economic growth and employment generation.
