Islamabad-Around 10 thousands tourists visited Murree on Monday to enjoy snowfall with their families and friends, said an official of Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation on Monday.
The official said that large number of tourists, mainly from twin cities, thronged the hill station. He said that the tourists thronged at Pindi Point, Kashmir Point, the Mall and Ayubia, adding that the hill station attracted a huge crowd whenever there’s a snowfall.
The official said that Murree’s adjoining areas like Galiyat, Bhurban, Ayubia and Nathiagali were also expected to see a large influx of visitors in days ahead due to the snowfall. He said that the PTDC was trying to facilitate the tourists. The PTDC is also in touch with local administration for ensuring smooth flow of traffic, he added.
Currently, restaurants in Murree are packed with tourists. Haroon Khan, a tourist from Rawalpindi, said that he was delighted to see snowfall as he had never seen it before.
“We enjoyed a lot, throwing ice balls to our friends; Murree is a beautiful place and we are happy to be here,” said Noreen Ahmed, another visitor.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department, about one feet snowfall had been reported in the area and more snowfall was expected in the days ahead in Murree and its adjoining areas.
