KARACHI - A number of protest demonstrations were held at different places of the City on Monday against Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and to denounce Zionist brutalities on unarmed and helpless population of Palestinians. The three demonstrations organised by national and politico-religious organisations which were attended by a large number of people from all walks of life. Jamaat-e-Islami Women Wing organised the biggest demonstration of the three in the periphery of the Quaid-e-Azam mausoleum. A huge number of women clad in black veils and holding party flags and placards condemning USA and Israel attended the demonstration. Addressing the demonstrators' central leader of JI Women Wing Ayesha Munawwar and Durdana lambasted Israel for let loosing hell against defenceless Palestinians, killing hundreds of innocent persons including women and children and criminal silent of USA and European Union. They demanded that Israel's aggression against Gaza must be stopped immediately, its occupation of Palestine must come to an immediate end and Israel should be declared a terrorist state. They said that hundreds of thousands of Palestinian people, mostly women and children, have been massacred, forcibly evicted from their homes and cold-bloodedly butchered in refugee camps but the US and EU kept a mum on this bloodbath. They further demanded that the Palestinians must have an independent state of their own, and appealed to the people to boycott those who supported Israel through their businesses. They demanded of the government of Pakistan to play its role in bringing about unity among the Muslim Ummah and asked the Islamic States to exert pressure on the UN to put pressure on Israel to stop the war against Palestine. They said that the US and Zionist agents were trying to create sectarian riots in Pakistan to divert the attention of the people from the plight of the Palestinians. Pakistan Muslim League (N) Sindh staged a demonstration in front of Karachi Press Club to condemn the Israeli brutalities against innocent Palestinians in Gaza Strip. The protestors led by provincial PML-N leader Zahid Rafique Butt, general secretary women wing Sindh Perveen Bashir, carrying inscribed with anti Israel slogans. The demonstrators also chanted slogans of "Palestine will be Israel's and America's graveyard," "America ka jo yaar hai, ghaddar hai." They berated the criminal silence of the Muslim rulers on the genocide of the Palestinians and demanded of the Muslim countries to rise to the occasion and put pressure on UNO to stop aggression against Palestinian people. Tehreek-e-Istaqlal led by its Central President Rehmat Khan Wardag staged a demonstration outside Karachi Press Club and condemned the genocide of Palestinians at the hands of Zionist forces in Gaza. They were carrying party flags and placards and raised slogans against Israel. Addressing the protestors Wardag, provincial president Shad Mohammad, Ismail Qamar and others lashed out at Israel for let loosing hell on the defenceless Palestinians. They demanded that the government of Pakistan should take a strong stand against the imperialist powers, reflecting sentiments of the people. They urged all the political forces to unite on one platform and raise their voice against the genocide of poor and unarmed people of Palestine.
