LAHORE-Editor-in-Chief The Nation and Chairman Nazria Pakistan Trust, Majid Nizami has stressed the need for unification of PML which should safeguard the principles of Allama Iqbal and Quaid-i-Azam instead of getting divided in (N) and (Q). He said this while addressing the second ceremony of PML Foundation Day celebration at Aiwan-e-Karkunan Tehrik-e-Pakistan on Monday which he presided. He advised Chaudhry brothers not to allow transformation of political opposition to political enmity. He said that Mian Sahib even did not know that I had been to Ch.Shujaat in person to take an initiative for PML unification, after 62 years. He lauded that Pir Pagaro showed more inclination to unite PML and when PML would be united, Functional League would be a part of it. He said he had no personal interest nor he wanted any office but the unification of Muslim League was his only mission. He said when Nawaz Sharif was living at Saroor Palace, Jeddah, he had met him after performing Umrah. Ch. Shujaat and Sartaj Aziz came to him and asked for performing another Umrah to unify PML but he said he was not interested yet in unification. 'As far as Nawaz Sharif's statement that he had been to Jeddah but why the Chaudhrys had sided with Musharraf. During the eight years some people sat in Opposition and some sided with Musharraf in Q league. What else could they do. They picked their own choices'. Majid Nizami said that Sh. Rashid had come to him and told that he was contesting on two seats and asked to recommend Mian Sahib to issue him a ticket as he had undergone an imprisonment of his share, but Mian Sahib did not agree. 'Again, Sh. Rashid came to me and told that he had won both the seats and would like to give both to PML (N). I again talked to Mian Sahib but he refused', he disclosed. Majid Nizami said Nawaz Sharif was flying high and consider himself Quaid-e-Sani but inspite of this, he considered that PML should unite. 'There was time when Mian Sahib used to stay at the residence of Ch. Shujaat in Islamabad and they were like family members. If they could live like that there should be possibility of reunification', he added. 'They should forgive each other. This is imperative under the situation. India is giving signs of war but Lala Ji cannot dare so. Our horses are strong and ready. Dr. A.Q Khan and Dr. Samar Mubarakmund's statement that we can blast Delhi in five minutes and Mumbai in six minutes is enough for them'. He said the unification was also important on this juncture when after 61 years, those who had sided with dictators wanted to see PML united. Pakistan should be a democratic Islamic welfare state, he added. He said Gen (Retd)Pervez Musharraf was threatening India but he was the person who had shown flexibility to India enabling Lala Ji to threaten us. 'We should forget all this and unite. For this purpose, Mian Nawaz Sharif and Ch. Shujaat should sink their differences'. Majid Nizami said if PML remained divided, it would suffer a defeat in Senate elections as PPP will take benefit of PML (N) and Q candidates contesting each other. Majid Nizami made a fervent appeal to change the attitude and thinking and unite PML into a single party to make Pakistan in accordance with the vision of Allama Iqbal and the Quaid lest God Forbid Pakistan's solidarity will be at stake.
