LAHORE Parts of the country including the City is likely to receive light rainfall on Thursday night that will give some respite to the people from prevailing severe cold and foggy weather. The wet spell is likely to continue with intervals during the next couple of days. Cloudy weather and isolated rainfall will reduce cold during nighttime and hinder fog formation. According to the experts, a shallow trough of westerly wave lies over northeastern parts of the country. Local meteorological department has forecast rains at isolated places of upper Punjab including the federal capital, upper Khyber PK, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during Thursday night and on Friday. Meanwhile, abundance of sunshine in the City on Wednesday helped maintaining the maximum temperature to 19 degree Celsius, thus providing respite to the Lahorites from foggy weather and severe cold during the daytime. Minimum temperature in the City was recorded 01 C. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded 100 percent which decreased to 56 percent in the evening. However, fog started falling during the night and caused gradual decrease in visibility that hampered smooth vehicular movement on important intercity and intra city roads including Motorway and National Highway.
