LAHORE - In what be described as a major policy shift, the Jamaat e Islami said on Wednesday that its doors were open to all and that it was also ready to go along with other people on a common line of action on basic issues. An announcement in this regard was made by party chief Syed Munawar Hasan while addressing the Jamaat members from Karachi district East and its office bearers at Mansoora on Wednesday. He said the Pakistani society was primarily religious and only the movements having a religious connotation had been more effective. He said different people were talking of revolution from their own angle. However, a revolution was always brought about by ideological groups having an ideological training. The JI chief said it was the responsibility of the ideological forces in the country to organize the masses and unite them to be able to utilize their strength for a peaceful change in the country. Syed Munawar Hasan said the entire nation was united on the issue of the Holy Prophets sanctity. He stressed upon the JI Arakan (the party members having the right to vote) and district office-bearers to prepare for elections and complete their homework before hand, and added that the election strategy would be decided at an appropriate time. He however directed them to take timely steps to have bogus votes struck off. Terming the JIs 'Go America Go drive the primary need of the country, he said the US and NATO forces had been completely defeated in Afghanistan and the colonial powers were not finding a way out from there. Accordingly, they were adopting different tactics to punish Pakistan for this defeat.
