Recently, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani in an interview to a Chinese daily tried to malign General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani by terming the responses given by the COAS and DG ISI in the alleged memo case as “unconstitutional” and “illegal”.
The Prime Minister claims to be a seasoned politician. But was he justified to say this, particularly when the Army Chief was on a visit to China to discuss strategic issues? Undoubtedly, General Kayani was there in the interest of the country. It is unfortunate that our political leaders lack common sense and, therefore, don’t know what and when to speak. It is high time that the President and Prime Minister, instead of badmouthing other State intuitions, should improve their governance in order to provide relief to the masses.
Also, it is important that the people choose honest candidates in the next general elections.
