LAHORE – After being spurned in love, a 25-year-old man committed suicide by shooting himself in the temple right outside the residence of his sweetheart here in Township Area, police said on Thursday.
Muhammad Usman riding on his car went to the residence of Maham late on Wednesday night, where he shot himself in the temple, and died on the spot.
Resident of Township, Usman, was running a car showroom and he had fallen in love of Maham, a resident of AI (Johar Town), police investigators said.
The youth was disillusioned since the parents Maham had turned down his marriage proposal. The parents of the girl tied her knot with someone else in the recent past.
The police reached the spot and removed the body to the morgue for an autopsy.
Sources said that the police have registered a case against the father of the girl on the complaint of Malik Omar, maternal uncle of the deceased. Further investigations are underway.
In another incident, a father of three committed suicide by swallowing poisonous pills over domestic dispute in Lytton Road police area on Thursday.
Police said that 30-year-old resident of Shamnagar, Javed Akbar, took poisonous pills after a brief altercation with his wife. He was rushed to a local hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
According to the family, the employee of a private company, Akbar, had been facing severe financial constraints for the last several months. The couple used to exchange harsh words over domestic issues. The police have removed the body to the morgue for an autopsy and are investigating.
