At least 14 security forces officials were killed and 21 others injured in a landmine blast in North Waziristan Agency on Sunday.

According to media reports, suspected Taliban militants targeted a convoy of security forces with a landmine while it was passing through Miranshah, Razmik road in North Waziristan Agency.

As a result of blast, 14 security personnel were killed on the spot while 21 others sustained serious injuries.

Several army vehicles were completely destroyed in the attack.

The injured security personnel were air lifted to military hospital in Peshawar for treatment. Heavy contingent of security forces cordoned off the area after the blast and started search operation.

Meanwhile, in Mahmand Agency, a convoy of army was come under attack by remote controlled bomb blast on Sunday afternoon.

Officials said the blast occurred in Machni area of lawless tribal agency added that three security personnel were wounded in this attack.
