RAWALPINDI – Dog bite incidents are on rise on KRL Road, Khanna Dak, due to slackness of municipal administration.  This road which stems from Express way is the most crowded road in the area of Khanna dak as it remains hub of vehicular traffic day in and day out being surrounded by larger vicinities of Al-Noor colony and Shakrial but it is no more safe for the residents as the droves of stray dogs have made it sign of terror for the citizens.

“You can see flocks upon flocks stray dogs loitering freely in every market and street of the localities sprawling on either side of KRL Road. They make a sprint towards any citizen whom they spot walking alone in the street, surround him and inflict bloody bite on every part of his body. We can not send our children to school which is functioning in next street,” said inmates of street No 2 of Al-Noor Colony.

“Dog bite threat deepens in night hours. Our guests and relatives coming from other cities during night hours don’t bother to hire taxi or rickshaw as our colony is located very close to Express way but they have to pay a heavy price for this act. They have to be taken over by drone attacks from  stray dogs. Therefore, we have asked our relatives not to visit us during night hours, said residents of Al-Noor colony.

The residents have demanded of the municipal administration to launch campaign for elimination of the stray dogs on fast track basis to ward off any untoward incident.
