LAHORE - Terrorism is the biggest problem facing Pakistan for the past several years. Countless people have been killed in suicide or remote-controlled blasts.

But the government doesn’t know how to deal with the problem.

Tehrik Minhajul Quran Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri came up with a unique solution on Saturday. At a news conference along with Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, he said 75 per cent terrorist activities would come to an end if only two persons are sent behind bars.

“One is at the Centre and the other in the province,” he said, leaving it to people to speculate on who he was referring to. “Use your powers and send them to where they should be,” he urged the deputy premier in a lighter vein.

Many say that the TMQ chairman had Interior Minister Rehman Malik and Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah in his mind. Both are the strong critics of Dr Tahirul Qadri. Interestingly, the Punjab law minister has been calling the interior minister a liar.
