BHAKKAR/Jhang - At least eight persons including two real brothers were killed and 25 others injured in two separate road accidents occurred here on Saturday.

According to police, a Dera Ismail Khan-bound passenger bus, coming from Raiwind (Lahore) collided head-on with a trailer near Hyderabad Thal area of Bhakkar.

As a result of the collision four persons were killed on the spot while more than two dozens others including women and children sustained multiple injuries.  The police and rescue personnel reached the scene of accident and shifted the injured to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Mankera and District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Bhakkar.  Hospital sources said that condition of several injured people was critical and it was feared that death toll may rise.

The injured passengers said that the accident took place due to speeding and reckless driving.

The police impounded both the vehicles and started the investigations. In JHANG, at least four people including two real brother were killed in a road accident occurred here on Jhang-Bhakhar Road near Adda Kot Khera.

As per detail, two real brothers identified as Qaisar and Naveed along with Dost Muhammad were on the way on a motorcycle rickshaw being ridden by Shahid Meehmood. When they reached near Adda Kot Khera, a speeding truck PKD-774 coming from the opposite direction collided with the motorcycle rickshaw. Resultantly all the three passengers and driver of the rickshaw were killed on the spot. On information Rescue 1122 reached the scene and took the dead bodies to DHQ Hospital.

The police registered a case against truck driver.
