Pakistan ski team leaves for Korea


ISLAMABAD - Pakistan ski team comprising three athletes Zia-ur-Rehman, M Imtiaz and Sajid and coach Nadeem Ashraf departed for Korea on Sunday to participate in Winter Sports 'dream training programme-2014' in Gangwon. Air Marshal Athar Hussain Bukhari, Vice Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, who is also the president Ski Federation of Pakistan, met the contingent before their departure. He urged the members to utilise this opportunity not only for polishing their abilities but also for promotion of Pakistani culture and national image among the participating nations. 'Dream training programme' is initiated by Gangwon Province, the host of Pyeong Chang Winter Olympics-2018, as a promotional plan for young winter sports athletes. More than 150 participants from 40 countries are participating in this programme. Korean embassy in Pakistan has extended there all out support and co-operation in materializing these training sessions. –Staff Reporter
