LAHORE- The Lahore High Court (LHC) today morning acquitted one more death row prisoner.

The convict, Zameer Ahmed , was sentenced to death for murdering a seven-year-old girl. The trial court exonerated Ahmed due to lack of evidence against him.

The Supreme Court (SC) and Lahore High Court (LHC) had also acquitted five death row prisoners last week. A death warrant of a convict was suspended as well on the same day.

Four of the acquitted death row prisoners were involved in a 2002 suicide attack on an Imambargah, that killed 11 people and left 19 injured. While, another acquitted prisoner was given a death warrant by an anti terrorism court (ATC) in a kidnapping-for-ransom case in 2012.
