LAHORE: A 30-year-old man ended his life by swallowing poisonous pills at his house in Badami Bagh police area on Monday.
The family told the police that Muhammad Khaleel, a resident of Khokhar Pind, had been suffering from financial constraints for the last couple of months. On the day of incident, he took poisonous pills after a brief altercation with his wife over some domestic issue. He was rushed to a hospital where he expired later. The police handed over the body to the family after fulfilling legal formalities.  Burnt: Three persons of a family sustained severe burns when the gas-cylinder exploded at their house in Misri Shah. Rescue workers rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to the Mayo hospital.
Edhi buries 17 unclaimed bodies
The Edhi Foundation said has that at least 17 unidentified bodies have been buried in the Miani Sahib graveyard since January 1 in Lahore.
A spokesman for the Edhi Foundation said that the unclaimed dead bodies were recovered from Lower Mall, Mughalpura, Tibbi City, Iqbal Town, Mozang, Lohari Gate, Ravi Road, Bhati Gate, Data Darbar, and Chuhng police precincts. As the police and district administration have failed to devise a system to identify unclaimed corpses, the country’s largest charity makes arrangements for the burial of the unidentified bodies.–Staff Reporter
