Dozens of MQM workers organised a protest here at German Chowk against the target killing of the party workers in Karachi. The protesters burnt tyres and blocked roads for all kind of traffic. On the occasion, MQM local leader Rashid Pirzada warned that the party workers would continue spreading message of their Quaid Altaf Hussain even at the cost of their lives.

Meanwhile, seven persons including six children were injured in a cylinder blast at the cart of a balloon-seller. The incident occurred when a hawker was inflating balloons with gas cylinder loaded on a cycle in suburban village Chak Fateh Shah where a marriage party was being held and children had gathered in large number. Suddenly the gas cylinder exploded causing serious injuries to six children purchasing balloons. One Muhammad Akram who was standing nearby also sustained injuries. The police evacuated the injured to DHQ Hospital. Later, three were referred to Lahore due to their critical condition.

ARRESTED: In special holdup, on the order of DPO Raja Basharat, police arrested eight suspects while 11 persons were arrested for selling CDs containing hate material of sectarian nature. Police sealed the CD shops and booked the accused under relevant law.
