Performance of KP police lauded for recovering abductee

PESHAWAR - A delegation comprising citizens and traders of Peshawar city visited the office of Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani on Monday to appreciate the operational competence, efficiency and real change in KP police cultural.
The delegation which was accompanied by MNA Ghulam Bilour paid rich tributes to KP police for timely recovery of a kidnapped person namely Saddam who was kidnapped from outside his home in Peshawar. The delegation also presented copies of the Holy Quran and Umrah tickets to police team in recognition of their performance in subject case.
According to details, Saddam son of Hashim Gul, resident of Faqirabad, was kidnapped by armed men on September 6, 2014. According to abductee's father, a business man by profession, the kidnappers had demanded Rs20 million as ransom from him. Taking notice of the incident, a special investigation team was constituted by the IG police under the command of SSP CTD Sohail Khalid and DSP Operations Shah Nawaz for recovering the kidnapped person.
Owing to the untiring efforts of Counter Terrorism Department and Peshawar police, the kidnapped person was recovered on October 12, 2014 and the five kidnappers were arrested while one of the kidnappers was killed in encounter with police. The father of the abductee paid rich tributes to the KP police for the timely and safe recovery of his son.
Speaking on the occasion, MNA Ghulam Bilour praised the professional manner with which KP police are performing duties and said that the entire province is proud of the brave officers and jawans of police force who have rendered unprecedented sacrifices for the province and its citizens.
The delegation also presented a gold medal to Inspector General of Police KP Nasir Khan Durrani in recognition of his efforts for reforming the police department and fashioning it on the lines of modern police forces. Expressing his gratitude to the traders' delegation for supporting and recognizing the efforts of KP police, the IGP KP Nasir Khan Durrani returned the gold medal to the delegation and said that the public's praise for his force is the best recognition of his efforts.
The IG police further said that KP police force is committed to work for the betterment of society and protecting life, property and honour of the citizens irrespective of their affiliations and social status through modern, pro-active policing and community participation.
