Sindh governor orders resurrection of a school

KARACHI - Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad ordered to reconstruct a school building allegedly demolished by land mafia located in Shah Faisal Colony during an emergency visit to school sites on Monday.
According to details, a school, Govt Asif Boys Schools & Govt Akhtar Girls School, in Shah Faisal Colony closed due to the winter vacations. After the schools reopened the school was demolished and was being reconstructed as a resident building when the student came back.
Governor Sindh during inspection of school premises in Karachi’s Shah Faisal Colony he pledged action against land mafia involved in occupying the school. Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, concerned official of education department and police were also along with the Governor during the visit.
Ebad talking to the media said the government would not tolerate any illegal occupation of educational institutes. He directed removal of encroachment from the school. He also offered to shift the school in another building till reconstruction. He directed commissioner Karachi and IG police to provide suitable security to the school building. To a question Governor Sindh said that, we are concern about academic activities of schools and are focusing on immediate construction of the building. He said that arrangements would be made so academic activities do not defer.
School principal Nasreen Bano informed the governor that academic activities of the school continued for year in the old school building but during the summer vacation 2014, land mafia occupied the building and demolished the boundary wall and classes. She said that the building was totally destroyed. She urged Governor Sindh for immediate construction of school building without affecting education activities of the students.
Furthermore, Sindh Education Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro responding over the issue said that an FIR was registered against illegal occupation of a government school in Shah Faisal while Additional IG will take strict action against the land mafia. He regretted that school’s head master, EDO and other officials did not report this to the ministry adding that we will remove encroachments from schools.
