ECP accepts minister’s apology

ISLAMABAD - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) yesterday accepted the unconditional apology of Minister of State for Water and power Abid Sher Ali in a case relating to violation of code of conduct.
The minister had submitted the written apology before the court of ECP and apologized for committing violation of electoral code of conduct during the local government election held in Faisalabad.
The ECP had taken notice of the violation on part of the minister after complainants accused the minister of continuing the election rally despite expiry of deadline given by the ECP.
The court of the commission accepted his apology hoping that public office holders should abide by the rules in future.
